Acme Manufacturing, a small, manufacturing company with roughly 60… Acme Manufacturing, a small, manufacturing company with roughly 60 employees, is undergoing a change in leadership. Bud Acme started the company 45 years ago and has been heavily involved with the day to day operations ever since. Bud has decided to retire (for good this time) and pass the company down to his son Mack, and daughter Evelyn. Mack and Evelyn (M&E) both want to bring the day to day operations into the 21st century and utilize technology to make things more efficient. Bud was never a “tech guy”, in fact he didn’t trust it, so outside of production equipment, technology was never utilized for business support processes. M&E have identified the following areas where they believe technology can help make Acme Manufacturing more competitive and also streamline current business processes:The HR, Payroll, Accounting, and Asset Management processes for Acme are all currently done on paper. It is inefficient and time consuming. They need a better way to operate.Acme currently has filing cabinets full of past and future customer orders, customer information, and various other sales data. They need a way to better manage this data.M&E are worried that by incorporating technology into the heart of their business processes, critical and sensitive data will be exposed to hackers. They need to be assured their data will be safe.M&E feel like Acme is falling behind their competitors because business decisions are not currently driven by data.
